Mr. Raymond Zemaitis age 80 of Marne, passed away peacefully August 7th, 2011 with his loving wife Donna and children by his side. He was preceded in death by his daughter Diane (Zemaitis) Michalak and leaves behind a large extended family including six children, Linda (Gordy) Shields, Rick (Karen), Ken (Dorothy), Mark (Marilyn), Rose (Kyle) Weiss and Tom (Tracy), sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Born in Grand Rapids, MI where he spent his youth, later enlisting in the Marines where he served in the Korean War. He eventually settled in Marne where he raised his family. Ray worked for GM for 34 years. Ray's family and friends, will miss him deeply, he left us with a legacy that he lived his life to the fullest, had an unwavering loyalty and love for his entire family. Those who fortunate to know Ray will always remember fondly, his love for hunting, fishing, golf and enjoying their cottage on Loon Lake with his family and friends in Irons, MI. A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal Service will be celebrated Wednesday 11 am at St. Joseph's, Wright, where he will repose one hour prior to the Mass. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday 4-8 pm at the church where a Rosary will be prayed at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations can be made to Spectrum Hospice.
