Dorothy was born on March 28, 1916 to Charles and Alvina Rolfe in Battle Creek, MI. Dorothy graduated from Battle Creek Central High School, class of 1935, and Nichols School of Nursing, class of 1938. Her first nursing jobs were at the American Legion Hospital and Community Hospital. They also enjoyed traveling to various locations to celebrate with Don's WWII fellows at their army reunions. Dorothy was an avid crafter.
