Betty's life began on August 10, 1947 in Batesville, Arkansas the daughter of John Ingram and Allie (Hightower) Ingram. Betty graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1967. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and spending time with grandkids and family.
Betty's family includes her fiancé, Robert M. Johnston; daughters, Ronda Godshalk of Cassopolis, Hope Sheppard of Niles; grandchildren, Ciara, Torry, Alyssa, Grace, Justin, Robert, Claudia, Isabella; great grandchildren, Mariah, Skylar, Marissa and sister, Bessie Joyner.
Betty passed away on July 12, 2012 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George and James Lawrence and grandchildren, Jacob and Gabrielle.
Her family will gather with friends on Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am at Yazel & Clark Chapel. Burial will take place in Shanghai Cemetery.
