John J. Delaphiano, 78, of Battle Creek, died July 13, 2012 at the Laurels of Coldwater. He was born on February 12, 1934, the son of Robert J. Delaphiano and Faith Rogers in Bedford Twp., Michigan. John enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and then was with the Air National Guard at Battle Creek. John worked as a laborer for many different companies in the Battle Creek area. John loved to fish, hunt and camp. John is survived by his children, Daniel (Rosann) Smith of Sherwood, Susan Smith of Round Rock, Texas, Kathy Delaphiano of Indiana, Margaret Delaphiano of Washington DC; brother, Robert C. (Patricia) Delaphiano Jr. of Shelbyville and sister, Irene Hills of Bellevue; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sons Deanio and Jeffery. Funeral services with military honors will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery with Pastor Darrold Dexter officiating.
